History

The Bluesberry Jam Band came together at a time of what Michael Avery calls “open mics and jam sessions” in Jackson, Tenn. During September 2004, the group developed into a mixture of five guys all over 50 years of age with a total of approximately 138 years combined experience. Within a radius of 25 miles of Jackson, Tenn., the band resided where many of legends of the blues came from and played. These legends included such blues-men that called Jackson and Brownsville, Tenn. their home. A couple of the more experienced in the group have played with Denise LaSalle on domestic and overseas tours. The others have worked extensively with many well-known local groups across the west Tennessee.
