History

Bluesberry Jam Band

The Bluesberry Jam Band came together at a time of what Michael Avery calls “open mics and jam sessions” in Jackson, Tenn. During September 2004, the group developed into a mixture of five guys all over 50 years of age with a total of approximately 138 years combined experience. Within a radius of 25 miles of Jackson, Tenn., the band resided where many of legends of the blues came from and played. These legends included such blues-men that called Jackson and Brownsville, Tenn. their home.

A couple of the more experienced in the group have played with Denise LaSalle on domestic and overseas tours. The others have worked extensively with many well-known local groups across the west Tennessee.

Sound Description

Muddy Waters, John Lee Hooker, Sonny Boy Williams, Jimi Hendrix and other old style delta music with some 70's style mixed in.
