DAN MONTGOMERY 3+4. The Dan Montgomery 3+1 is a big damn band this time out, featuring Robert Mache on guitars and mandolin, Louis Myers on pedal steel and banjo, Andrew Simons on upright bass, Candace Mache on backing vocals, and Jana Misener on cello. Just one player short of the mythical Dan Montgomery Bucket of Chicken, but still not to be missed.
Dan Montgomery brings a rock music sensibility to the singer-songwriter genre, along with the ability to shine a strong light into some very dark corners.
Rosetta, Please, his third CD, delivers a bar-stool story with a musical punch that keeps you coming back for more. Not for those who want a double-dose of sugar with their music, but highly recommended for the rest of us.
Dan Montgomery’s ability to spot people you’d never notice and turn them into characters you can’t resist is uncanny. Shaun Dale - Cosmik Debris
Dan Montgomery returns with the follow up to his acclaimed debut solo CD Man From Out Of State with his newest offering: Rosetta, Please (a love story). A nine song story of two people. One fresh out of jail. One walking the streets, working the streets. What tears them apart? What keeps them together? Rosetta was noted by Andria Lisle (Mojo, Oxford American Journal) as one of the records to look out for.

CANDACE & ROBERT MACHE. New Orleans transplants Candace and Robert have made a musical home in Memphis. Candace is a splendid singer and songwriter. Those who saw her Otherlands Live debut were highly impressed. Her partner on stage is her husband Robert Mache. Robert is an in demand multi-instrumentalist who has lately been backing Dan Montgomery and Nancy Apple here in Memphis and a host of great bands all over the US and Europe. He was a founding member of The Continental Drifters.
GIANT BEAR. This will be a trio performance of the combo with Robert Humphreys - bass, guitar, and vocals, Jana Misener - cello and vocals, and Jeff White - banjo, guitar, and vocals. Look for a full band Giant Bear show soon.
"Frank Zappa and the Mothers of Invention reincarnated as a modern day folk pop powerhouse." (Cincinnati City Beat)
Giant Bear released their self-titled album in 2007. The album is enormous musically, showcasing a variety of established guest musicians all well-loved in Memphis, adding accordion, pedal steel, Hammond B3 and slide guitar. Despite how big the band’s music is sonically, the songs originate with the theory that music is best when it’s simple and the stories are straightforward.
