CARLEY WOLF & THE HOWLS. Carley is a singer, songwriter, and multi instrumentalists currently residing in Austin TX. Born an hour outside of Austin, she was raised in the country with a loving musical family and a pack of wolves. She plays guitar, mandolin, piano, upright bass, banjo, and anything else she can get her hands on. She has toured the US, Canada, Mexico, and Europe with various musical groups including The Crooked Jades and The Celestialites. She has now formed the Howls and they will be touring to support her debut release Set Sail. Recorded at the Troubadour in Lockhart, TX with Steve Collins and Jonathan Konya.

Carley’s music is very Kerrville, very backyard Austin (and environs) – as gentle as Winter (the friendliest wolf you ever petted), as pure as snow, as honest as Abe himself. This tiny woman with the little girl talking voice and womanly singing voice is always surprising – one day in native dress, the next in high fashion formals – and always disarming, bringing peace and joy wherever she goes.

"I believe I was put here to share music with people." Carley Wolf says this with great confidence, not just because "it’s what comes most naturally and brings the most joy" in her life. True, Carley started singing about the time she started talking, began piano lessons at age 7 and guitar at age 8, started her own band, "The Clabber Girls," at age 12 (with original songs, no less). She is a sound recording engineer who also studied classical guitar with Mark Cruz, jazz on upright bass with Dr. James Polk, and mandolin with no less than David Grisman.

Carley had an itch to learn more about her musical heritage, so she hopped on a bus and traveled across Mexico to interview close and distant family members for a documentary film, "Music Through the Bloodline." What she found was that "the love of sharing music, singing, composing, performing, and playing instruments goes generations back as far as I could find – it is in my family’s blood, and has been passed to me with love."

CALEB SWEAZY COMBO. Caleb has been doing some studio and club work with a full band that includes Logan Hanna on electric guitar, Andrew Simons on bass, Jesse Williams on drums (all from Groundspeak) and Jeremy Shrader (Memphis Hepcats) on trumpet. It's a really hot combo.

Originally from Cobden, Illinois, Caleb paid his dues in Los Angeles, California. He's in Memphis now and we are glad to have him. Caleb picked up stakes, and sold his Triumph Bonnevillle to finance the recording of the aptly titled current CD Goodbye Bonneville on Appleknocker Records.

In 2005, Caleb self-released a 6 song EP under the name Jitterbug Thompson. Three songs off of that EP received national attention. “Model A” and “442” were played on NPR’s Car Talk. “Fool” was one of two songs by independent artists included on the Americana Music Association’s annual compilation, This is Americana Volume 2, which also features tracks from artists like Mary Gauthier, Robert Earl Keen and John Doe.

"Caleb Sweazy's Goodbye Bonneville is roots music beautifully written and sung ... done with class and a serious cool factor - a rare bird indeed." - New West Records

"Sweazy's world-weary viewpoint, unconventional voice and folksy guitar work mark this as the most roundabout Southern debut in some time." - Mark Jordan, Commercial Appeal
