Description: Vakeita Barrett has been singing and writing lyrically since the age of 12 with performances in local church choirs throughout the Memphis area. A graduate of Memphis’ Overton High School, Vakeita has been writing lyrics and singing in local church choirs throughout the Memphis area for many years. She is also a featured soloist and writer on a positive hip hop CD entitled To The Fullest by local rapper Mac Gordon. It is through her music that Vakeita expresses her love for both smooth jazz and gospel.
The Folklore Store is located at 123 S. Main Street @ The Peabody Place Trolley Stop in the heart of downtown Memphis.
