Pianist, composer, musicologist, journalist and music business clinician, J. Michael Shaw has been a respected player on the Memphis jazz scene for years. Since 1986, this University of Memphis graduate has been playing with big bands and small groups around town. He is currently a member of Johnny Yancey's Sanctuary Jazz Orchestra and, when not performing, is working on material for his first album.
For this appearance, he will be joined by bassist Daniel McKee and drummer Othman Djuliarso with the possibility of some special guests dropping by to play horns.
