Bird Walk
Tools
When: Saturday, November 14, 2009, 9 a.m.
Where: Strawberry Plains Audubon Center
Cost: Unknown
Age limit: All ages
Description: "Birders" of all levels are welcome. Come and see (or hear!) some of the over 200 species of birds that have been seen at Strawberry Plains Audubon Center. Fall and winter are wonderful times to bird! With less leaves on the trees, we can glimpse a clearer view of some of our year-round species, in addition to those that just visit this area in the fall or winter.
For beginners, learn how to use binoculors, field marks and guides to identify birds. For more advanced birders, take this opportunity to hone your skills, especially with our many sparrows and warblers. Our program leader, Justin Shew is an ornithalogist who has spent time birding in South Africa, the Pacific Northwest, the Midwest and now, more recently, Mississippi. We invite you to join him in experiencing Strawberry Plains through its birds and beauty!
