The Bhattacharya Brothers of Calcutta, India, will perform percussion and slide guitar at Rhodes College on Wednesday, Oct. 21. Sponsored by CODA at Rhodes (Center for Outreach in the Development of the Arts), the concert begins at 6:30 p.m. in McCallum Ballroom of the Bryan Campus Life Center.
Nominated for a 2009 Grammy Award, Debashish Bhattacharya will play the Hindustani slide guitar, an innovative instrument of his own design that boasts 22 strings. His brother Subhasis, a percussionist, rhythm arranger, and vocalist, will perform on the tabla.
