Kris Acklen, The Sweets, Adam Jeffrey

KRIS ACKLEN is a musician, dj, live sound engineer, and produces other artists in his own studio. Last fall, Kris assembled a band to record a solo project. They are Kris, vocals and piano, Brandon Ticer, vocals and guitar, Chris Clark, bass, and Mark Petty, drums. He's becoming a regular around Otherlands. THE SWEETS. The Sweets are an indie folk duo featuring Lauren Strange and Brenna Vick. Singing together for three years, it only seemed natural that Lauren and Brenna would start Memphis newest female duo. Collaborating on each other's songs with their distinct soprano voices and fun energy, they are taking over stages all over Memphis.

Native Memphian Lauren Strange is a singer/songwriter who plays piano and guitar and has been writing songs since age 9. Some of her influences include David Gray, Ryan Adams, & Sarah McLachlan. She has performed at various venues in the mid South, and has appeared on "Live at 9" on Memphis' News Channel 3. Lauren looks forward to releasing a demo and hopefully an EP with her band by Fall 2009.

Brenna Vick is from a small town in Minnesota. She has been playing piano since she was 7, guitar at 11 and writing music since she was 10. She attends University of Memphis, and is pursuing a degree in Music Recording Technology. Brenna has an acoustic full length album out entitled "Fly."

ADAM JEFFREY. Adam Jeffrey will be making his Otherlands debut at 8 pm sharp.

Adam is a songwriter, vocalist, and multi-instrumentalist who has worked regularly with the Memphis Symphony Orchestra, Alabama Symphony Orchestra, Jackson Symphony Orchestra, and Paducah Symphony Orchestra, playing in a Latin-Flamenco group called Rio Corrientes and even the great privilege of working with legendary musicians such as Boots Randolph and Rock and Roll Hall of Fame musicians James Burton and DJ Fontana.

For several years, Adam has worked with his family as a multi-instrumentalist and vocalist in the Terry Mike Jeffrey Band. Adam is currently in the studio recording his first solo project that will be known as Three Day Flight, scheduled to be released in the fall of 2009.
