Brian Ray, piano instructor and collaborative pianist at Rhodes College, presents a piano recital Sept. 21 as part of the Music Department’s Faculty Concert Series. Free and open to the public, the concert begins at 7:30 p.m. in Tuthill Performance Hall (in Hassell Hall) on campus.

The program includes “Sonata in B-Flat Minor, Op. 36” (1913 original version) and “Four Etudes-Tableaux, Op. 39” both by Sergei Rachmaninov, “Etude in C-Sharp Minor, Op. 2, No. 1” and “Nocturne in D-Flat Major, Op. 9, No. 2” by Alexander Scriabin, and “Sonata No. 7, Op. 83” by Sergei Prokofiev.

Ray holds a bachelor of music degree in piano performance from The University of Tennessee at Martin and a master of music degree in piano performance from The University of Memphis. A frequent solo recitalist and collaborative artist, Ray is currently completing a doctor of musical arts degree at The University of Memphis.
