Rhodes College’s McCoy Theatre will present a new work created by Rhodes students under the instruction of guest artist Greg Allen.

Allen is founding director of the Neo-Futurists, a troupe out of Chicago who create interactive, experimental theatre that is “a fusion of sport, poetry, and a living newspaper.” The group’s long-running signature show is “Too Much Light Makes the Baby Go Blind,” a presentation of 30 plays in 60 minutes.

During Allen’s workshops with the cast of Rhodes students, they will write and develop an original show based on the Neo-Futurist model.

The show runs September 19, 23-26 at 7:30 p.m. and September 27 at 2 p.m.

All performances are open to the public, with special ticket pricing of $5 for all community patrons. Rhodes students will be admitted for $2. Tickets can be reserved by contacting the McCoy Theatre box office at (901) 843-3839 or mccoy@rhodes.edu.
