MUPPETS OF FOLK. It's a songwriter circle with JD Reager and Ryan Proctor (The Cold-Blooded Three) and Joey Pegram (Shabbadoo, Two Way Radio) with guests Hunter Sellari and Jack Alberson.

JD REAGER. J.D. Reager is a songwriter, multi-instrumentalist and audio engineer based in Memphis, TN. He is a former musical contributor with several critically acclaimed recording/touring artists, including Glossary, Pezz, and Snowglobe. J.D. also currently plays guitar with Memphis indie-pop mainstays Two Way Radio, who are featured in the Craig Brewer-directed web series “$5 Cover,” and is a co-owner of Makeshift Music.

As a songwriter, J.D. is hard to pigeon-hole. His songs are honest and personal, with healthy doses of irony and self-deprecation mixed in. He ranges from solo, acoustic balladry to full-blown, fuzzed-out psychedelic rock (sometimes within the same song). Frequent comparisons to Sebadoh and Elephant 6 are not without their merit.

His solo album, The Repechage, was released in 2009, by Makeshift Music. The record features guest appearances by members of Snowglobe, Lucero, the Subteens, Giant Bear, and a host of other well known Memphis musicians.

JOEY PEGRAM. ChrisDavis of the Memphis Flyer writes: "Shabadoo started out as a one-man band fronted, backed, and centered by Joey Pegram, who made his Memphis debut as the drummer for hippie-punks 611. Pegram also drummed for the Bumnotes, Professor Elixir's Southern Troubadours, and short-lived noise-punks Apocalax. He was a guitar slinger and co-vocalist for the Joint Chiefs until they stripped down to a power trio, and he still plays drums and sings backup for Two Way Radio. But none of the boisterous music Pegram has made in public compares to the simple and simply wonderful collections of tunes he crafted in private and gave away to friends as Christmas presents. In 2004, Pegram finally drug Shabadoo out of the soft-rock closet."

HUNTER SELLARI. Hunter is a veteran Memphis musician that dates back to the Antenna Club days and bands like The Penetrators. He has never stopped songwriting and recently had songs featured on Neil Young's "Living With War" website. A prolific writer, Hunter has launched several projects, both solo and backed by notable Memphis musicans, including Hunter and the Unclaimed Band, Left of the Dial, and The Progressives. JACK ALBERSON spent five years in the Conway, Arkansas music scene in local bands Lash 41, Bleakhouse, Ailment and Heterodyne (which included Clouded Son's Robert Jones as well as future Noise Choir axeman Patrick Glass).

Jack moved to Memphis in 1999 and joined Johnny Romania and in 2004, Shortwave Dahlia was born and has since evolved into a quartet who have enjoyed moderate success in the Memphis music scene. They are currently preparing a second full-length album. Jack has embarked on a solo project--the first to be billed under his own name.
