Good Luck Dark Star, Three Day Flight, Kris Acklen

GOOD LUCK DARK STAR. Space rock with euphoric harmonies, Good Luck Dark Star are certainly aiming high with their live set. Already a little imposing with their six players, when the power is turned on, GLDS do invoke the aesthetic of some of their inspirations - the effortless melodies of Big Star and Jeff Lynne, the electric guitar density of Crazy Horse or Queens of the Stone Age, and the upper atmospherics originally mapped out by David Bowie. While an actual Dark Star obliterates any matter or light that comes within its grasp, Good Luck Dark Star betrays their namesake by performing in an opposite capacity!

Singer Bret Jason Krock, who led Eighty Katie to power pop infamy, is playing something very different from the Cheap Trick-type rave-ups he's noted for. Rounding out the band are guitarist Johnny Guttery, bass player Dirk Kitterlin, drummer Preston Todd, and vocalists Lisa Isbell and Megan Cowell. The band's musical influences include Electric Light Orchestra, Chris Bell, and ABBA.

THREE DAY FLIGHT. Adam and Kristie Jeffrey are a husband and wife duo who are working passionately to clearly communicate peace and love through music. As a duo, as well as when performing with other musicians, they are known as Three Day Flight. They have just finished their first EP of five original songs entitled "This Dream".

Adam is a songwriter, vocalist, and multi-instrumentalist who has worked regularly with the Memphis Symphony Orchestra, Alabama Symphony Orchestra, Jackson Symphony Orchestra, and Paducah Symphony Orchestra, playing in a Latin-Flamenco group called Rio Corrientes and even the great privilege of working with legendary musicians such as Boots Randolph and Rock and Roll Hall of Fame musicians James Burton and DJ Fontana.

For several years, Adam has worked with his family as a multi-instrumentalist and vocalist in the Terry Mike Jeffrey Band. KRIS ACKLEN is a musician, dj, live sound engineer, and produces other artists in his own studio. Last fall, Kris assembled a band to record a solo project. But this will be his solo debut.
