SONGWRITERS IN THE ROUND. This is becoming one of our more popular formats. An intimate show with no stage. Artists are in the round and surrounded by the audience. Not to be missed.

DAVY RAY BENNETT. Many of you know Davy as guitarist/composer for the popular coffee house duo Rae-Ray. Davy has been playing the guitar since he got his first Martin Sigma guitar when he was 13. He grew up listening to his mom's old yard sale albums like Herman's Hermits, Kenny Rogers, The Beatles, Motown's greatest hits, Air Supply, and even Dolly Parton. Davy spent a few years dropping out of school and skateboarding with some buds before he came to the realization that music was what he was sent here to do. In '91 he studied classical guitar at MTSU. Move forward to Memphis where he finished an iron workers apprenticeship program, and finished his bachelor's degree from the U of M, where he studied with. Lily Afshar. Who knows what he'll do next, but meanwhile you can see him on any given day composing new material at Otherlands or teaching at at Studio708.

MICHAEL JOYNER. Singer, songwriter Michael Joyner has spent the last few years in Memphis Tennessee perfecting his sound. His music is a mixture of folk, soul, jazz and rock pulling influences from musicians like, Curtis Mayfield and Jimi Hendrix to Nick Drake and Neil Young. MIKIE SCHMIT. Mikie is a world traveler, having spent the last year in Memphis, South Africa, and her home country of Sweden. Mikie arrived in Memphis as a veteran of Swedish bluegrass band Lemongrass which she formed with her brother Manne. Her influences include Allison Krauss, Johnny Cash, Gillian Welch, Nickel Creek.

In her first stint in Memphis, Mikie formed the band Mickie & Friends, where she was joined by all members of then fledgling Star & Micey. She's been globe hopping but she's back in Memphis to give us a show. Mickie is an old soul with a beautiful voice and songwriting skills that defy her young age. She's a real treat.
