SIDE STREET STEPPERS. The Side Street Steppers play the greatest hits... of the 1920s and 1930s. They are modern interpreters of pre-war music, performing old time Southern string band, jug band, ragtime and blues classics.

In their stage personnas, Ms. Vera Victoria sings and plays ukulele, tenor ukulele, banjo and tamborine, Tennessee Tom plays guitar, resonator guitar, tenor banjo, guitjo, mandolin, and kazoo, while Mississippi Slim Pickens does duty on upright double bass.

THE POTLIKKER STRINGBAND. potlikker (noun) – Midland and Southern U.S. - The broth in which meat or vegetables, such as salt pork or greens, have been cooked.

The Potlikker Stringband is an old time Memphis string band. Members are Ritchie Schuman, fiddle, Mike Albert, clawhammer banjo, Christian Stanfield, guitar, and Mike Cannito, mandolin. Their influences include The Skillet Lickers, Old Crow Medicine Show, Uncle Earl, Foghorn Stringband, The Freighthoppers, and Uncle Dave Macon. They have been appearing around the area at bluegrass festivals and the Memphis Contra Dance.

The Potlikker Stringband lives and plays old time fiddle tunes and stringband music in the Memphis, Tennessee area. The members of the band come from a variety of musical backgrounds; Folk, Rock, Blues, Bluegrass and Irish namely. At some point in each's musical journey, they felt the old fiddle tunes speaking to them. Each member has a different idea of what "Old Time" music means, but it all comes together and is a really powerful mix.
