Bring your whole family to the Ozark Folk Center Sept. 4-6 for a fun Labor Day Weekend celebration. There will be hands-on demonstrations in the Candle Shop, Doll Shop, Art Cabin, Leather Shop and Spinning and Weaving Shop. Visit with Bubba down next to the General Store as he whittles away the day. The Broom Squire will be dying broom corn and the Printer will be running the presses. Learn how to make soap, forge iron, sharpen a knife or throw a tomahawk.

Listen to tales of the Ozarks on the Bessie Moore deck at noon. There is live acoustic music on the outdoor stage six times during the day. Sign up when you get your tickets at the General Store for the daily tour of the Craft Village at 1:30. On Saturday, children between the ages of 7 and 14 can join the Young Pioneers Program at the Shannon Cabin at 11 am, 2 and 3:30 pm. Children of all ages will enjoy the Folk Kids program in the Craft Shops where they can grind their own corn or weave on a loom.

Included in your admission to the Craft Grounds will be a Saturday afternoon seminar/workshop "Remembering Grandpa", with entertainers, friends and family members sharing their fond memories of the music legend, Grandpa Jones. A special guest Saturday afternoon will be Kyle Cantrell Announcer for the Grand Ole Opry along with Ramona Jones and her family.

The Craft Village will be open for the holiday from 10 am to 5 pm Sunday and Monday in addition to our regular Wednesday – Saturday schedule. Special features in the Auditorium that weekend include Celebrity Concerts featuring Sam Bush and Marty Stewart and the Tribute to Grandpa Jones. Sunday, September 5 there will be an evening Gospel Concert starting at 7:00 pm.

Make a fun weekend out of your visit with a comfortable stay at the Cabins at Dry Creek. Enjoy the good southern-style cooking at the Skillet Restaurant. The Ozark Folk Center State Park in Mountain View is a great place to bring your whole family for the Labor Day Holiday.
