Description: From the First Jewish immigrants in the 1770s to the 21st century, the Jews of Tennessee have played a major role in the life and culture of the state. "Bagels & Barbecue" tells the story of the culture, heritage and traditions of local Jewish communities. This exhibit has been expanded at the Pink Palace to tell the story of Jewish influence on Memphis icons as diverse as Elvis, Christmas, baseball, food and fashion.
"Bagels & Barbecue: The Jewish Experience in Tennessee" is on exhibit at the Memphis Pink Palace Museum February 6 through April 11, 2010. Tickets are $8.75 – adults, $8.25 – seniors, $6.25 – children (3-12). Group rates are available. For information/reservations, call 901.320.6362.
