The Marguerite Francis Music at Noon concert series, established by Memphis’ own musician David Francis to honor his mother, enjoyed an extremely successful season in the fall of 2009. The series, which is held every Wednesday afternoon at Bartlett United Methodist Church, continues with a spring season that showcases even more musical artists who call Memphis home.
The concerts are held from 12:10 to 12:40 each Wednesday in the church’s sanctuary, and a light lunch is available for purchase following each performance. The series’ season finale occurs on Sunday, May 16th, when multiple artists will appear in a major concert to fund the series for the 2010-2011 season. David Francis is among the artists currently scheduled to perform.
Scheduled performances for the spring season in include singer/songwriter Van Duren, the Rhodes College Jazz Ensemble, the Sunday Traffic Brass Quartet, and organists Karen Strawhecker, Phil Brown, Richard Wright and Dr. Jane Gamble with oboist Dr. Courtenay Harter. Sopranos Mary Wilson, Trisha Phillips, Amanda McGee and a soprano trio from Rhodes College will also appear.

January
27 – Mezzo soprano Amanda McGee shares a mixture of favorite art songs and arias.
February
3 – Trisha Phillips, soprano and University of Memphis graduate student, provides a day of variety in song.
10 – Accomplished opera singer Mary Wilson shares a selection of works from her favorite operas.
17 - The Rhodes Jazz Ensemble offers a variety of selections that are sure to get your toes tapping.
24 – Stepnen Albart, a lyrical baritone from south Florida, shares his passion of music with a lunchtime recital of operatic aria and art song.
March
3 – Richard Wright brings “Favorites for the Theater Organ” to the Music at Noon stage.
10 – Stephen Carey, Opera Memphis’ Assistant Artistic Director, Chorus Master and Rehearsal Pianist brings the church’s grand piano to life during his performance of selected works.
17 – Oboist Courtenay Harter and organist Jane Gamble perform works for oboe and organ, including Night Song by Craig Phillips and Variations on "Amazing Grace" by Calvin Hampton.
24 – Sopranos Brigid Hannon, Laura McLain and Rebecca Rieger from Rhodes College
accompanied by Brian Ray perform celebrated songs and arias
31 – No concert, Easter week
April
7 – Award-winning, singer/songwriter Jimmy Davis, whose songs have been recorded by Martina McBride, Restless Heart, Reba Russell and others, brings a lively performance to the Music at Noon audience.
14 – Trombonist Mark Vale showcases the versatility of this wonderful brass instrument.
21 - The Sunday Traffic Brass Quintet brings a variety of selections to share with the audience.
28 – Richard Wright and John Ross: Favorites from the 1940s featuring woodwinds, piano and guitar.
May
5 - Organist Phil Brown offers a program that showcases the beauty of the Kimball organ.
12 – The Artist-in-Residence Quartet from Opera Memphis showcases why the company is one of the premier art organizations in the MidSouth.
16 – David Francis and friends take to the stage in a celebration of all things grand
as the inaugural season of Music at Noon completes.
