Michael Donahue's After Dark

Michael Donahue

Welcome to After Dark, where I’ll give you a peek inside area watering holes (a.k.a. bars), nightclubs and other spots to check out what they are like, what’s new and why the party people hang out there.

I begin with Celtic Crossing, an Irish pub at 903 South Cooper. Rusty Lemmon, who sings and plays guitar on Thursdays, was singing rock instead of blarney stone ballads, but the atmosphere definitely is Irish. You can order Shepherd’s Pie and drink Guinness and pretend every night is St. Paddy’s Day.

Let me know if you’ve got a favorite night spot I should visit. E-mail me at donahue@commercialappeal.com.
