"A high-octane treat with some differences from the broadcast version, the musical's reason for being is to provide a string of hook-laden songs that stir dancin' feet interspersed with bursts of over-the-top, adolescent zaniness and lame dialogue, bro. A reprise of the sold-out production in February, this engaging show, staged in the round, employs a minimal set and a cast that brings accessible gentility to the fusty script. This joy-and-tear-filled evening of feminist theater follows a string of pearls through the lives of a diverse group of interesting women, played by four actresses.
