Lil Rounds was declared safe for another week on Wednesday’s “American Idol” results show.
The Memphis singer had a shaky night with the judges after Tuesday’s rendition of Celine Dion’s “Surrender.” They agreed that it was the wrong song choice for the local diva. But the more than 36 million votes cast for the 9 remaining contestants swung in her favor.
Megan Joy, one of the show’s three remaining female contestants was eliminated from the competition. She returns home to Sandy, Utah.
The series continues next Tuesday on Fox 13, with the top 8 competitors performing “songs from the year they were born.” Rounds’ birthday is Nov. 14, 1984.
