Lil Rounds performs Tuesday night on "American Idol." The Memphian was panned by the judges and lagged in voting, but she was saved in Wednesday night's voting.

She was among the bottom three vote-getters on the Fox singing contest after Tuesday night's rendition of Tina Turner's "What's Love Got To Do With It."

The four judges were critical of her performance, saying it reminded them of "karaoke." Rounds, 24, promised she would demonstrate more artistry if allowed to compete another week.

Rounds got her wish.

It was Scott MacIntyre and Anoop Desai on the bottom of the eight contestants. According to host Ryan Seacrest, 34 million people voted, and 30,000 votes separated the two.

On Wednesday, MacIntyre had to sing for his survival. The judges were torn over eliminating the visually impaired singer. In the end, Simon Cowell made the final decision. MacIntyre is out of the running, and now there are seven.
