From movie critic John Beifuss' blog thebloodshoteye.com:
I can't recommend "Night," because I haven't seen it.
But I'm in favor of local filmmakers producing and premiering their homemade horror movies, even ones that run only 18 minutes (or perhaps I should say, especially ones that run only 18 minutes), so I plan to be at the Malco Paradiso at 7 tonight (Monday, Aug. 10) for the FREE public debut of "Night," which the filmmakers describe as "a short horror thriller about a businesswoman working a late night at the office... It just happens to be the night a man seeks revenge on the lawyer who withheld evidence during his trial seven years ago."
The woman is played by Melissa Hass; the menace is played by man-mountain Patrick Cox, a veteran of the local productions "The Book of Noah" and "Live Animals." Shot in Memphis with local crew, "Night" was directed by Brian D. Elkins and produced by Waheed AlQawasmi. Again, the screening is free and open to the public, and the short will be accompanied by trailers for other local films.
