Best bets: Hot dogs
For weeks I've made the trek Downtown in the heat to find a hot dog vendor my friends rave about. Yet, I can't even confirm at this point that he exists, as I've never seen him. Foiled again earlier this week, we made our way to Hott Diggidy Dog to grab our red hots there instead.

I don't have a picture of it -- and didn't know such a thing existed until we were already eating -- but they serve hot dog nachos at Hott Diggidy Dog. And believe me, I would never have guessed that I would want a bite, much less two. But I ate my sample and would've eaten more (how much more, I can't say) of the big ol' pile of chips, chili, messy queso, slices of hot dogs and jalapenos. You'll have to try this for yourself and see what you think. If you're not up for hot dog nachos, you've got plenty of dog choices,
Hott Diggidy Dog, which has been open about six weeks, serves Chicago-style Vienna beef dogs, but turkey dogs, sausages and even a veggie dog are also available. Toppings vary widely and you can order your weeny the way you want it.
