The Memphis in May World Championship Barbecue Cooking Contest continues through Saturday at Tom Lee Park. Gates are open 11 a.m.-midnight tonight and 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. on Saturday.

Tickets may be purchased online at ticketmaster.com or by calling 525-1515. Tickets also will be sold at the north and south gates at Tom Lee Park.

Single-day tickets are $7 online and $8 at the gate. Children 6 and younger are free.

JUDGING AND ENTERTAINMENT

Friday

6:30 p.m.: Awards for Best Booth, Team Shirt, Anything But Competition, Sauce, Wings and Baked Beans

7:30 p.m.: Ralph Stanley & Clinch Mountain

9:15 p.m.: Simplified

Saturday

6 p.m.: Comedy Tennessee

6:30 p.m.: Awards Ceremony

8 p.m.: Bobby "Blue" Bland

Kingsford People Choice Judging

Want to be a barbecue judge? You can judge as often as you like in the Kingsford People Choice Judging. You get five samples for $4. Go to the judging tent on Thursday and Friday from 2 to 6 p.m.

Every ballot counts and the winner of the people's choice will be announced on Saturday evening at the awards ceremony.

COOKER CARAVAN

Cooker Caravan is a free guided tour of the teams that include cooking information, a chance to see a variety of specialty grills and smokers, and tips on how to improve your backyard barbecue. Tours leave every 30 minutes during schedule tour times, which are 11:30 a.m.-3:30 p.m. on Thursday and Friday and 10:30 a.m.-2:30 p.m. on Saturday.

OTHER INFORMATION

MIM does not control parking, but parking lots and spaces are available Downtown.

Local health regulations prohibit teams from serving food to the public. There are barbecue and other food vendors in the park. And for a small price, you can try barbecue samples from teams through People's Choice judging.

Not allowed: beverages, bicycles, roller states or roller blades, food or beverages, coolers, pets, lawn chairs, over-sized umbrellas, weapons, baseballs, footballs or other game items that can be thrown.

Only cash is accepted for food; ATM's are in the park.
