Best Bets: Sushi
Sushi for dinner can be both economical and, if you order correctly, healthy. A-Tan at Poplar and Highland offers a selection of rolls from 5 to 7 p.m. Monday through Thursday that fits the bill on both counts.

The rolls are $3, a savings of anywhere from 75 cents to about $2 off the regular menu. The 20 or so choices are simple — California roll, tuna, salmon, avocado and so forth — but tasty. The shrimp tempura, crunchy crab and spicy crawfish either include fried bits or mayonnaise, but make a nice bite or two when combined with one of the other rolls.
The house sake is two-for-one during the same time ($4.25 for the small), but it’s only the warm sake. I prefer mine cold, but the warmth chased the chill away on a recent cool and rainy evening.
