Go Taste: Restaurants that are open Thanksgiving day

Here are restaurants that will be open on Thanksgiving. Visit whiningdining.com and click on "Holiday openings" on the right side of the page to see if others are added before Turkey Day:

Barnhill's Buffet, 6196 Stage Road (377-1826) and 1204 W. Poplar, Collierville (854-5660), is offering a traditional Thanksgiving Day dinner from 10:30 a.m. to 6 p.m.; $10.99; drinks, tax and gratuities are extra.

Cupboard Restaurant, 1400 Union (276-8015), will be open from 10:30 a.m. until the food is gone. Turkey and dressing or flame glazed spiral sliced ham, three vegetables, dessert and a drink for $14.99 plus tax.

Currents at the River Inn, 50 Harbor Town Square, serves a three-course meal on Thanksgiving from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. for $49, adults, $12 children. Call 260-3300 for reservations.

Doubletree Hotel, 5069 Sanderlin, is offering a traditional Thanksgiving buffet from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. $28.95 for adults, $12.95 for ages 7 to 12, children ages 6 and younger eat free. Reservations: 322-6666.

Grill 83, in the Madison Hotel at 83 Madison, is serving a special Thanksgiving menu with three choices of entrees and soup, salad and dessert for $36-$42. Service starts at 11 a.m. and ends at 10 p.m. Reservations: 333-1224.

Frank Grisanti's in Embassy Suites Hotel, Shady Grove and Poplar, is open 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Thanksgiving Day, serving a three-course traditional meal for $27.95 and will reopen at 5 p.m. with the regular menu. Reservations required for afternoon meal. Call 761-9462.

The Holiday Inn at the University of Memphis will serve a Thanksgiving Day brunch in the Grand Ballroom, with seatings at 10:30 a.m., 12:30 and 2:30 p.m. ($31.95 for adults, $28.95 for seniors; $13.95 ages 5 through 12) and Thanksgiving dinner in the Medallion Restaurant from 5 to 8 p.m. ($23.95 adults, $21.95 seniors and $9.95 for ages 6 through 12.) Rates do not include tax or 15 percent gratuity. Reservations required: 678-5410.

The Inn at Hunt Phelan, 533 Beale, offers a four-course Thanksgiving Day meal from 4 to 8 p.m. Prices are $59 adults, $19 children. Reservations: 525-8225.

Magnolia: A Delta Grill, at Horseshoe Casino in Tunica, offers a three-course Thanksgiving Day meal for $35. Restaurant open 5-10 p.m. Includes appetizer, entrée (choices include Herb Crusted Turkey Breast, Crispy Duck, Roasted Pork Chop, Grilled Beef Tenderloin, and Pistachio Crusted Rainbow Trout) and dessert. Marlowe's, 4381 Elvis Presley Blvd., opens at 4 p.m. Thanksgiving Day, with a turkey dinner special for $8.95 and Thanksgiving karaoke 10 p.m.-2 a.m. Call 332-4159.

Neil's, 1835 Madison, opens at 11 a.m. Thanksgiving Day. Turkey and dressing dinner with all the trimmings available; $8.95. Call 278-6345.

The Peabody offers a traditional Thanksgiving feast from 10 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. in the mezzanine; $50 for adults, $20 for children (ages 5-12), free for children 4 and under, not including tax and gratuity. Reservations: 529-3668.

Capriccio Grill at The Peabody will offer a special three-course Thanksgiving meal in addition to its regular menu; $35 per adult, $15 for children (ages 5-12), free for children 4 and under, not including tax and gratuity. Reservations: 529-4199.

Chez Philippe at The Peabody offers a four-course Thanksgiving meal for $70, seating from 3 to 8 p.m. Call 529-4188.

Perkins Restaurant & Bakery will offer turkey and all the trimmings for $9.89 until 2 p.m. at these locations: 6819 Winchester; 3455 Poplar; 5112 Park; and 1340 S. Germantown Pkwy. in Germantown.

The following locations will be open regular hours, offering a full turkey dinner for $13.99 for adults and $5.99 for children. The adult meal includes turkey and dressing, green beans with bacon, mashed potatoes and gravy, dinner roll, beverage and a free slice of pumpkin pie: 1571 Sycamore View; 960 W. Poplar in Collierville; 8472 N. Highway 51 in Millington; 770 Hwy 51 Bypass W. in Dyersburg.

At Piccadilly from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Thanksgiving Day, you can dine on turkey or ham, with two sides, bread, dessert, and drink for $9.99 per person. Ruth's Chris Steak House, 6120 Poplar, offers a three-course turkey dinner for $28 on Thanksgiving Day from 4 to 9 p.m. Call 761-0055.

Area Shoney's locations will offer a Thanksgiving meal during regular operating hours, 6 a.m. to 10 p.m. $8.99 per adult, $3.99 for children; ages 4 and under eat for free. 3081 Covington Pike, 382-2220; 5829 Summer, 386-6570.

TGI Friday's, 185 Union in the Doubletree Hotel, will serve breakfast from 7-11 a.m., lunch from 11 a.m.-4 p.m. and dinner until 11 p.m., serving a full menu. The bar will be open from 11 a.m.-11 p.m. and Happy Hour is 4 p.m. until close, serving half-price appetizers. Call 523-8500.
