Like my husband said after we wolfed down the Appetizer Plancha at My Favorite Place, a Mexican restaurant on Germantown Parkway, “What’s not to like about cheese and chorizo?”

The answer, of course, is nothing — and the same applies to the margarita. If you’re planning on a marathon day of shopping in the area, treat yourself to a brief respite.

The chorizo, a spicy sausage, is fried until a bit crisp and covered with cheese. It’s served hot in a skillet, topped with pico de gallo and with flour tortillas on the side. Take your fork and twirl up a portion of gooey cheese with the chorizo, wrap it in the tortilla and bite in.

Take a drink of your margarita, have another bite. Repeat until the stress of standing in line at the super store is fading.
