I love an egg sandwich, and I also like a sandwich with the unexpected addition of a fried egg. The Amazing Island Club Sandwich at Bardog Tavern Downtown comes to mind when I think of the latter, so when I heard the fine folks there were serving breakfast sliders, I figured I needed to take a trip.

The sandwich pictured here contains a fried egg, served with spicy mayonnaise, ham, cheese and bacon on a soft bun. You can customize your combination, and while I asked for ham instead of bacon, I sure wasn't sending it back for getting both.

It's a nice way to start the day, assuming your day starts late enough -- the doors open at 8 a.m. I walked up to the bar, ordered my sandwich, and it was ready before I finished playing my silly word game on my iPhone. And I parked right out front.

Breakfast, which is sliders and coffee only, ends at 10 a.m., but you can order the egg sliders off the menu any time of the day.
