There's a lot going on at The Grove Grill, the restaurant in Laurelwood long popular for its bar and kitchen dinners in addition to a large menu of upscale Southern favorites.
Now executive chef Joshua Laban Perkins, who's been running the kitchen with chef/owner Jeff Dunham for about two years and attended culinary school in Italy, is showing those Italian chops on Sunday, Monday and Tuesday nights.
The menu features items such as lasagna bolognese and Newman Farm pork belly carbonara, as well as other Italian dishes such as spaghetti and meatballs.
Also on Sunday and Monday nights, there are "football widows" specials in the bar: Two-for-one tapas and $6 wines by the glass.
And right now -- though call ahead to check because the season can end at any time -- soft shell crabs are in, too.
The restaurant's Facebook page is frequently updated, so visit it to find out about daily specials and new menu items as they're introduced.
And mark your calendars for Oct. 17, when the restaurant hosts a wine and tapas tasting with four wines It's from 6-8 p.m. and is $20.
