Tuesday

Café 1912 hosts a Mardi Gras dinner, with seating between 5 and 9:30 p.m. In addition to the regular menu, they'll offer Cajun specials including homemade king cake. There will be decorations and Cajun music. Reservations recommended; call (901) 722-2700. 243 S. Cooper.

The Memphis Botanic Garden hosts a Mardi Gras wine tasting from 6-8 p.m., featuring wines and hors d'oeuvres with a New Orleans flair and live music. Members $25; nonmembers $35. Reservations required; call (901) 636-4131. 750 Cherry.

Wednesday

Capriccio Grill in The Peabody hotel hosts a four-course Ferrari-Carano wine dinner at 6 p.m. $55 (includes valet parking). Call (901) 529-4199.

Plan ahead

Fillin' Station Grille hosts the second annual Mumbo Gumbo Cook-Off benefiting Porter-Leath from noon-6 p.m. Feb. 26 at 4840 Venture Drive in Southaven. Food and drinks available for purchase in addition to 5,000 pounds of crawfish. (662) 510-5423.

The Scottish Malt Whisky Association hosts a tasting of very rare and single-cask single malts to raise money for Theatre Memphis beginning at 6 p.m. March 1 at Clark Opera Memphis Center, 6745 Wolf River Pkwy. Food and live music included. $150 per person; call (901) 682-8323.

"A Taste of CBHS" will be held from 5 to 8 p.m. March 4 at Christian Brothers High School, featuring more than 40 restaurants and vendors with a connection to Christian Brothers High School. Tickets are $60 per person and are available for purchase online at cbhs.org.
