Title: Server at Ronnie Grisanti's Italian Restaurant

Age: 20

Hometown: Collierville

What was your first food-related job? I worked at my mom's food broker (business). She had a company, Cotton Connection. It was working with (Hardin's) Sysco and doing food shows, (Memphis) Cook Convention Center, stuff like that.

How did you get to be a server? I started waiting tables at O'Charley's. I was 17 … I had a girlfriend at the time who had a position there.

What makes a good server? Attention to detail. Just being attentive to what you're doing. Always watching out for the guest's needs.

Who's the biggest celebrity you've ever waited on? Mayor of Collierville Stan Joyner.

Do you find yourself super critical when you're being waited on in a restaurant or bar? Absolutely. Without a doubt. I constantly critique people that are waiting on me. 'Cause I critique myself so much.

How much do you tip? Normally, I tip depending on service. If I have a good waiter I make sure he gets taken care of. I let him know for sure if he's not a good waiter, too.

What are some of your interests outside of working in a restaurant? I love the outdoors, clearly, since I just came from outdoors. Went camping, actually. Wolf River.

Ronnie Grisanti's Italian Restaurant is at 684 West Poplar inside Sheffield Antiques Mall; 901-850-0101.
