How did you get into bartending? I had been serving for so long that I was just kind of burned out on it, and I wanted to do something new.
What makes a good bartender? I think you have to be sociable, have to have a great personality. You have to be able to talk to anybody.
What's the best part of being a bartender? When you bartend, it's not really like a job. It's almost like you get to come hang out.
What's popular at your bar right now? We've got 32 beers on draft, so our beer selection is awesome. Right now, it's (almost) fall, so we've got a lot of Oktoberfest beers. We've got the New Belgium Hoptober. We've got the ... Spaten Oktoberfest. Then, of course, we've got the Sam Adams Octoberfest, too.
What's your favorite drink (mixed drink, wine or beer)? Rogue Dead Guy. It's so good. It's a Maibock beer. It's not too hoppy. It's not too dark.
Does your bar serve a signature drink? Here we have a Gtown Cooler. It's vodka of your choice. You can get passion fruit, raspberry, cherry, grape. Any of those choices. Then it's just some sour mix and a little splash of water. It's pretty much like Gatorade and vodka.
Who's the biggest celebrity you've ever waited on? A week ago, I had Joe Theismann (former NFL quarterback). He's great. ... They ordered two build-your-own salads. ... He was a nice guy. I like football a lot, so right when he sat down, I knew exactly who he was.
What are some of your other interests? I love to golf. I'm in school. I'm at Southwest (Community College) right now. ... I'm just taking a couple of law classes. ...
