Alicia Keys Southaven concert cancelled

The Alicia Keys concert scheduled for March 27 in Southaven has been cancelled.

The Landers Center announced Saturday that due to "unforeseen scheduling conflicts" that the show would not go on, and that refunds will be offered "at the point of purchase." The press release did not specify if the conflicts were with the arena's schedule or with Keys.

The North American leg of the "Set The World On Fire Tour" kicks of March 7th in Seattle and will run through April 18th in Chicago.

Believe me, there was no scheduling conflict here. Probably, just too few tickets sold. This is what happens when you live in one of the poorest cities in the nation. You're going to miss out on a lot of things. I love Alicia Keys. I went to her last concert here at the Orpheum, but I didn't bother buying a ticket this time because I doubted the show would come off. Unfortunately, I was right. It'll be awhile before we see any major African-American entertainers in Memphis. Got to get the old poverty index up first. Or just maybe Ms. Keys, being interracial, was afraid she'd be here when that All-American social group, the Klan, came to town. Can you blame her? Our city is the laughing stock of the nation right now.

You are right. My home town is a laughing stock. Any town close to Memphis is unfortunately going to suffer. Too many people still relate the south with poverty and crime. So sad.

She can't sing. She should stick to playing the piano and writing.....You must have missed the NBA All-Star game half-time show.....
