  •  University of Memphis basketball coach Josh Pastner (left) enjoyed SportsBall 2009 in August, where guests  shot baskets, participated in jousting tournaments and other games to benefit Big Brothers Big Sisters of Greater Memphis. Getting in on the fun with Pastner at Minglewood Hall was D'Army Bailey.
  • Runners didn't run out of steam after the Comcast Firecracker 5K for St. Jude in July. They immediately attended the great after party at the Racquet Club of Memphis. Guests included (left) Brittany Keyser, and her twin sister, Blaire Keyser, and Robert Mobley.
  • Zoo Rendezvous is always a great party, but the vibe at  September's event was even better than usual. Partying at the food/music fest were (from left) Cheryl Eakins, Julian Williams, Yacqui Peete and Chris Davis.
  • This year's  Blues Ball was held near Christmas, so people could wear their holiday best at the Gibson Guitar Factory. Guests included   Mary Righton Brown (left), Hunter Quinn and Brittany Driver.

  •  The Peabody's New Year Party spanned 2008 and 2009, so the dazzling event was eligible for the list. Miles Ashley (from left), Kim Dowe, Ciera Oullette and Will Ashley were there.
  • Al Kapone and his band -- along with a fog machine and fans on the stage -- were among the attractions last October at Rocktoberfest at Germantown Performing Arts Centre.
  • Guests wore Snuggies to The Memphis Snuggie Pub Crawl in November. The event, the first of what is to be an annual event, was a fundraiser for Amelia's Voice. Snuggled are (from left) Gwyn Fisher, Allan Fisher and Heather Deprel.
  • Tim Lepard brought his Ghost Riders show -- monkeys in cowboy attire riding dogs -- to The Blues Ball Spring Auction last May at The Warehouse near South Main. That's just one reason  this one made the list. With him is Pat Kerr Tigrett, party founder and  general chairman.
  • Food and dance combined for a sublime evening at this year's Connections: Food Ballet Memphis fundraiser at BRIDGES Inc in October. Dancing in the ''Children of the River'' ballet directed by Nicole Corea (center), were (from left) Rafael Ferreras, Jonathan Powell, Liliana Muhlbach, Leigh Lijoi, Crystal Brothers, Julie Niekrasz, Stacie Williams and Scott Spivey.
