I'm grinning a little, I've got this funny image in my head of a few Kris fans (not all) gleefully hugging his victory to their chest and using it to bait/lord over Adam fans any way they can, according to some responses here.

I actually give a lot of weight to opinions/rants about Adam not having won AI, because many, many people, me included, tend to wonder how that could have happened. All the words already weighed in on the topic would probably tilt the axis.

On the review, it basically stereotypes Adam and Kris and barely passes as commentary on both, much less analysis, of which there is clearly none. It isn't even anything original.

LOL, Vern87.

The things is what makes me laugh the most is that the second anyone mentions anything about Kris' victory having been down to the Arkansas vote, it's instantly assumed (mainly though not solely by Kris fans) that they're an Adam fan.

Priceless.

Life is too short to waste your time being bitter. Especially over a reality TV show. The competition is over and your whining doesn't change the fact that Kris won. Fan wars are stupid and immature, and its the ones who are overzealous who give all of fans a bad rep.

It's the ones who are overzealous who put their favourites in embarrassing positions. Think Taylor Hicks times infinity.

Kris won because he got most votes. Plain and simple. Adam knows that Kris won outright. I'm a Adam fan and I know being a sore loser is lame. And not winning obviously didn't hurt Adam. Just let it go, Adam will still have a great career and I'm sure he doesn't want his fans to keep whining about Kris's winning.

Where are the sore losers? It would appear that there is a unique phenomenon in the case ................ sore winners. Why? Because deep down they have always known that what was reported by the Speaker of the House of Arkansas was accurate (how else could a contestant who had consistently hovered over the elimination zone, even on his better weeks such as 'Ain't No Sunshine', suddenly move up in giant steps and take all before them whilst showing no signs anywhere of an increase in popularity or interest?) and the scenes at the concerts, except for Arkansas, are proving this beyond doubt.

I don't think Adam's fans are in much doubt that he will have a great career. Whhy should they be? All the indications are there - huge popularity, big industry support and the obvious support of the management and record company keen to promote him every bit as much as, if not more than the winner - but the slightest little indication of Adam's much greater popularity and potential and Kris fans start acting like Tasmanian devils. Why? Because it proves the theories and suspicions right and they know it.

How very sad. Kris fans should just be glad that he won - particularly those who practically lost fingers on the night of the finale - and that he has been given this opportunity because I very much doubt that had he not won, he wouldn't have found himself in the same position as Danny.

in response to Coral:

This is a great review. While Kris and Adam's styles are different, and not everyone will like the same thing, Kris' style appeals to a wider audience. But more importantly to me, while Adam is more of a performer, Kris is the artist and musician. I feel more of a connection with Kris, because with him, it's all about the music. With Adam, it's all about the visual, which is why his style works better on stage and in person, but he'll have problems getting that to translate through his album and on the radio. For me and my taste, Kris is about all substance and Adam is mostly about stlye.

And not that it will matter to those who flood internet sites to comment on anything remotely related to Adam Lambert, but I'm gay. Just because someone doesn't like Adam Lambert's style of music, that doesn't make them homophobic.

CORAL

Kris appeals to a wider audience? Where is it then and why isn’t it turning up (other than in Arkansas)? Why isn't there evidence of interest on Google, Youtube, etc (except from Arkansas)? Why is Kris' official site much smaller than Adam's (now the second biggest in the world for any SonyBMG act in terms of membership and the biggest in terms of threads and posts)? Why are unofficial Kris sites and Kris' networking groups much smaller than Adam's? Why does all evidence suggest, as it always has, that only in Arkansas Kris is more popular and elsewhere the margin is hugely in Adam's favor? Why does all evidence suggest, as it always has, that it’s Adam who appeals to a far wider audience? Why does all evidence suggest that Kris won because of Arkansas? Why perpetuate the issue when proof is there in the audiences at the live shows?

If Adam is all visual and will have problems translating to record or radio, why did his downloads vastly outsell and get far more airplay than those of any other contestant? Why was he able to do that and still sell far more videos than any other contestant? Because he’s popular - not just for his voice, not just for his performance, but for both. If Adam will have trouble translating to record or radio, why are top songwriters, composers and producers queueing to work with him? Why is Kris – with his ordinary, generic voice with no outstanding quality or individuality - getting the same old same old? Please do your research.

Kris plays a couple of instruments to an average level. We're not talking Carlos Santana or Jean-Michel Jarre, just someone who can strum a bit and plink a bit. Adam doesn't play instruments. So what? He has near perfect pitch and that’s why he’s able to improvise, not just rearrange a song but actually improvise with chords and harmonies during a performance itself. Where is there evidence of Kris being able to do this? Even his so-called rearrangements of 'Heartless' and 'She Works Hard for the Money' were lifted note for note, phrasing for phrasing, from other versions with no original input from him.

Kris is about substance and Adam about style? Do you not realize the irony of saying that while embellishing your post with such cliches?

I don't know what parallel universe you live in but please let us know when you return to planet Earth.

Finally, was there any need to try to justify your comment by stating that you are gay? That’d be like me saying just because someone can recognize Kris Allen is nothing more than an average guy who you could see singing at, serving at or propping up the bar at your local any night of the week doesn't mean they’re gay. Besides, the vast majority of those saying they’re gay to try to make their views on Adam sound reasoned have been found later (by other comments they’ve made after forgetting what they’ve previously said) to be young girls. Some have even pretended to be gay men!
