I'm interested in knowing why it is so terribly insulting to describe Lambert as what he is. I saw a reviewer (who actually liked Adam) describe him as an eyeliner, twilight-loving gay guy. What is wrong with that? He was cruicified. Adam DOES wear eyeliner. Much more than most women. He DOES love twilight. And he IS gay. He announced it to the world in Rolling Stone. He is as gay as he is a fabulous singer. But if you mention it you'll be labeled as unevolved and homophobic. My big argument with him is not that he's not talented but that he was way too polished for the show. He was already so experienced. I read a comment on a youtube video from someone who said she had admired him in stage productions and now she was delighted he was on American Idol. He came somewhat known in the area. How is that fair that he already had at least a small fanbase and everyone was completely unknown. I started out as an Adam fan but wound up as a Kris fan. It is a freaking miracle he won. Without pimping, without special lights, without over the top behaviour, without crotch grabs.

Vickie: If we decide it is our job is to single people out by orientation in a concert review then why not also describe Allen as a heterosexual Christian youth leader? Or Lambert also as a Jew? Why only decide to make mention veiled or otherwise of Adam's sexuality? In my opinion sexual orientation marital status and religion have nothing to do with Lambert or Allen's individual talent or skills. But if you're going to mention one you might as well go all the way and bring Allen's into the act as well. To do otherwise is biased no matter what your way of thinking.

And sorry but you'll never win the "Kris as underdog" argument with me or anyone I know in Portland. Young Christian guy on a season with other young Christian guys and gals, with an unthreatening wife, a sweet face and an awe shucks attitude against a Jewish boy with gay kissing photos leaked to the internet and Bill O'Reilly questioning his morals and whether or not anyone would vote for him on a family oriented show? Has anyone actually ever won this thing that was NOT from the South? There's no argument. Lambert was the underdog all the way. IMO when Gokey lost his votes went to Allen. No Arkansas conspiracy, just a bunch of uniformed people voting against one guy rather than voting for another. And if this is the case then these votes might not translate into album sales. Just saying. I don't know anything for a fact.

And lastly, did you hear the name Adam Lambert before American Idol? I didn't think so and I didn't either. Lambert was as unknown and deserving as the next guy. And much more talented.

I'm not a screaming female. Or a hysterical fan. Just someone who happens to think that Lambert has the best voice I've heard in a long, long time. I live in Portland Oregon and that's where I saw the concert. And if you think Lambert fans are bad, you should see the Allen fans who crucified Portland reporters who dared say Kris might not have deserved the win. I know because I'm related to one of them. The posts were quite nasty. Since then I've been having a lot of fun following the tour reviews. Sadly, yours is the first slurred review I've come across for Lambert and I must say some of your word choices are disappointing. Or maybe we're just more evolved on the West Coast.

American Idol started out as a singing competition. And for me the guy who won the reality show can't hold a candle vocally to the guy who came in second. Oh, but yeah, he plays the guitar. Whatever. Maybe he can play backup in a band someday. I don't know Lambert. I don't know his friends. And I don't care.

Anyone who doesn't agree can just take my Feeling Good because a Change is Gonna Come challenge. Get these recorded songs by Lambert from Itunes. Get them from your friends. But get them any way you can because you'll never hear anything so darn amazing for a good long time. Wacky fans or no wacky fans. A singer with vocal chops this amazing is here to stay folks.

I work for Crew One,the local stage crew,we set up all the equipment for all the concerts that come through Memphis.Last night,i got a chance to meet Kris, he was cool,Anoop,a little shy,Lil,my home girl, gave her a hug, told her i was proud of her,she was nice,Micheal was a little dry,Danny,i got a little emotional because of his wife passing, gave him a handshake and a hug,but when i met Adam,he was funny as hell with his sense of humor, very friendly, laid back, cool, very open to conversation, and very appreciative of my praise for him.I felt good knowing that i had met the next great superstar in our lifetime, because thats what he will become.

I think you put very eloquently what many people were trying to say.

Thanks for your post.
