Written on Concert Review: Crowd doesn't mind Bieber's lackluster performance :

in response to cheffner#365257:

Pleeze.....if you weren't going to write a decent review, you should have been re-assigned. If nothing more, my daugher went to this concert and thorougly enjoyed. What artist stage isn't hyped with theatrics. Come on, I've listen to his CD and I'm impress with his writing skills and his success.
He's not filtering out the F-word or degrading lyrics and that along takes more talent that the ink you decided to waste on your twisted review.

What you don't know is the reason he sounded good on the CD is because of today's technology. They have equipment like INTUNE that can put anyone singing in tune with the music as well as other gadgets that make him sound good. I'm glad your daughter enjoyed his show but technically speaking the kid can't sing, he's hyped to little girls because he's cute.

This is what they call talent today, it's all manufactured and choreographed. they have dancers and effects to hide the fact that THEY CAN'T SING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Media created and hyped so-called celebrities and because he's cute the little girls go crazy even though they don't pay attention to the fact that he cannot sing.

I have a feeling that someone else wrote the songs but have agreed to put his name as co-writer or he wouldn't record their songs and the writer would rather have half the money than none at all. It's an old trick that Colonel Parker, the carny con man used sometimes with Elvis.

Music today, with a few exceptions has gone to hell in a hand basket and is reflected in record sales being low.

From what I also hear that Bieber is a little smart alec who is rude to some of the crowds and people he meets. If he keeps that up he will be another flash in the pan, he needs to wise up. There's a big reason Elvis is still very popular 33 years after his death. He treated and appreciated his fans very well and he always showed it with his politeness and respect.

Hypocrites!

Written on News in the Arts: Handy Awards honor Green for life's work:

That's Fantastic. Herman has paid his dues many times over and it's about time he was recognized for all the enjoyment and entertaining he's done for Memphis for way over 50 years.

Glad you're still here to enjoy the honor Herman.

Written on Terry Manning back in Memphis to play, discuss music career:

Terry Manning contributed a great deal to Memphis Music and the city back in the day when we were the third most successful recording center in the country.

In addition, he is one of the nicest people you'll ever meet and I for one enjoyed knowing and working with him for awhile when I did some sessions in the old and new Ardent.

Welcome Home Terry.
